Slow Cooker Beef Stew 3.12

Busy and on the run, start this in the morning, and it will be ready when you get home. TA and DA show you how they make a hearty Beef Stew.

Ingredients:

1½ - 2 pounds Stew Beef

3 tablespoons Olive oil

1 Large Onion (diced)

3 Stalks Celery (diced)

1 Cup frozen Corn

1 Cup, frozen Green Beans

2 cups frozen Peas and Carrots

4-5 potatoes, peeled and cubed

¼ cup flour

2 cups beef stock

1 can beer

1 tablespoon Garlic Powder

1 tablespoon Rosemary

1 tablespoon thyme

1 bay leaf

salt and pepper to taste

The night before, (or at least 2 hrs before) marinate the stew beef in beer. (If last minute, add beer to beef after 3/4 browned)

When beef is browned, remove using a skimmer or slotted spoon. Place beef into warmed slow cooker.

To Skillet with beef drippings, add onion, celery, all spices, give a quick stir, then add potatoes. Let brown for about 5 minutes.

Next add flour, and mix throughout, add marinade and beef stock, bring to a boil.

Transfer vegetables and stock to the slow cooker. Add remaining vegetables.

Let cook for about 2½ hrs on high or 5 hrs on low.

Enjoy over rice or noodles, or by itself!
