The brief was to come up with a cooking video, reflecting a cultural dish. of some sort as part of the International Service at Eastgate Christian Centre. So we took the 'ol Italian pasta sauce (or "sugo" as it's known) and the art of making pasta and with a few over-exaggerated comments and decided to see what we could come up with. Just so you know, the cooks are actually fully Italian. If "Mamma's" accent, the "mezza luna" and the over exaggerated definition of a teaspoon don't give it away, I don't know what does. This was, in part, meant to be a dig at the lot of us who make pasta sauce out of a bottle when it actually is really easy. At the end of this shoot, I went away a few pounds heavier and a love for fresh pasta. So, here's the recipe, straight from the Italian horses' mouths!
